Bears split weekend series

Muskoka Bears had 2 game weekend over Dec 19th weekend, and kicked it off in great style by displaying one of best team efforts in going into Midland, and defeating an improved Midland Flyers team.

Jack Seney got it started off with his 2nd of the year, then Midland potted couple quick ones to take a 2-1 lead, before Wil Muszyinski banged a one timer from Sam Litt to even things up at 2. Captain Aiden MacDonald then capitalized on a double minor penalty on Midland, to pot his 4th of the year to take things to the 2nd with Bears up 1.

Midland had the only goal in the 2nd to even it up again at 3 heading into final frame, and this is where the Bears took charge with Sam Litt taking the opening 3rd period faceoff, and picking the pocket of a stunned Midland defence, and skating potting a shorthanded goal, his 11th of the year. Litt also figured prominently in the Bears 5th goal, as he fed Liam Cardiff, who blasted a shot past Midland goalie on the power play to put Bears up by 2. Tyler Lasitz then flicked a shit from his own end for an empty netter, and also his 11th of the year. Joseph Degan made 30 saves for the win in between the pipes.

Sunday the Penetang Kings came to to the Lumber Yard, and the Bears ran into a hot goalie in the Kings Owen Moreau, who stopped 45 shots for his 1st shutout of the season as Kings prevailed 3-0.

Bears have another 3 game weekend coming up Jan 2nd to the 4th, as they head to Alliston Friday, host Midland Saturday, and a matinee tilt in Stayner on Sunday to finish the weekend.
