Bears 3 game weekend wrap-up Jan 2-4th

Muskoka Bears thankfully wrapped up their last 3 game weekend of the year as they hosted Midland Flyers on Saturday Jan 3rd, sandwiched in between two road games in Alliston and Stayner.

Friday, a shorthanded Bears squad tackled the No#1 ranked team in the North Carruthers Division, the Alliston Hornets. Hornets jumped out to a 2-0 lead before Cohen Carlson brought them within one on assists by Tyler Lasitz and Jakob Medeiros. Alliston potted 2 more before Isaac Oakes notched his 4th of the year, from Jack Seney, and again by Medeiros. Alliston pulled away with 3 straight goals to make the final 7-2.

Saturday, the bears entertained the Midland Flyers in a thrilling back and forth affair that took an overtime and a shootout to decide the winner. Midland opened the scoring and the Bears got even with Tyson Jennings potting his 4th of the year from Sam Litt and Kevin Demeules. Midland pulled ahead in 2nd with their 2nd, and then Jakob Medeiros tied it for the Bears with his 1st goal of the campaign, from Wil Muszyinski and Litt again. After trading goals in the 3rd period, the game went to a shootout, where Bears tender Kyle Downey, stopped all 3 Midland attempts, and Sam Litt drained his opportunity, and sent the Bears to a hard fought 4-3 victory.
