Muskoka Bears Jr C Hockey team kicked off their inaugural 24/25 season over the weekend when they hosted the defending Carruthers Division Champion Alliston Hornets on Friday night at the Muskoka Lumber Arena.
A capacity crowd of 777 watched the Bears put up a valiant effort, but ultimately succumbed to the Hornets 11-0.
Sunday, the Bears traveled to Innisfil to take on the Spartans in their 1st road game of the year. Jumping out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Mason Taylor-Wood, and Tyson Jennings, a back and forth battle ensued where the Bears got further tallies from Captain Aiden McDonald, and Tyson Jennings 2nd goal of the game, to send the game to overtime, where nothing was solved in the extra frame.
Innisfil eventually prevailed and won 5-4 in a shootout.
Bears next home game is the Battle for Muskoka, as they will host Huntsville Otters Saturday at 7pm.
