Bears Drop Latest Battle of Muskoka 5-3

Muskoka Bears Jr C made the short trip to the Canada Summit Centre, for the latest Chapter in the “Battle of Muskoka”, to take on the Huntsville Otters.

After giving up an early goal, the Bears evened things up on great tip by Tyson Jennings, off a shot from the point by Jack Seney,to even things up at 1 apiece. Otters Damon Buttus, put the Otters ahead 2-1 on his 11th of the year. The 2nd period was all Bears as they took it to the Otters, and were rewarded by Sebastien McLeod’s 3rd goal of the year on a rebound, and then defencemen Jack Seney took the long way around Huntsville’s D, and fired a sharp angle shot bar down for his 4th of the year, to give the Bears a 3-2 lead.

Otters came out desperate in the 3rd period, and scored the tying goal on a goal mouth scramble by Owen Reuck, to knot things at 3 apiece. Otters continued to outwork the Bears at net fronts, and Otters Jack McInally gave the Otters the lead 4-3 on his 8th goal of the year, and that’s all Huntsville needed as they potted an empty netter to win 5-3, and creep closer out of last place in the Carruthers Division.

Bears, however, are not finished with the Otters just yet, as they host them on Monday Family Day, Feb 16th at 2pm, at Muskoka Lumber Community Centre. See you at the Lumber yard Bears nation!!
